Enjoy, and be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out on future insights!
The role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Human Intelligence (HI) will be a defining theme for the consulting sector in 2025. According to The New York Times, our industry was among the earliest adopters of AI-driven solutions last year, signalling its transformative potential.
The world is becoming accustomed to AI’s presence. Deloitte’s research in late 2024 found that the majority of UK residents believe generative AI can improve products, boost employee experiences, and benefit society – even though most people haven’t yet experimented with the technology themselves!
Many industries are utilising AI’s capabilities across the value chain. McKinsey’s insights into the beauty industry’s potential use of gen AI provides key success factors for scaling generative AI – alignment, investment, refinement, and risk management. These are applicable across all sectors, including consulting.
We believe the critical element of Human Intelligence must not be overlooked in an increasingly AI-powered world. While AI can enhance efficiency, HI is the key to interpretation, decision-making, and relationship-building.
This month’s article explores both the potential and limitations of AI and why maximising AI’s effectiveness requires consultants to enhance their critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and creativity.
In our latest posts, we provide practical takeaways on how to develop your HI by applying Socratic thinking and leveraging Kahneman’s System 1 thinking for better decision-making.
The most successful consultants of 2025 won’t choose one over the other – they’ll harness both AI and HI to maximise impact. We agree with Anna Weisinger and Suman Thareja of McKinsey: now is the time to invest in building skills on the human side to stay ahead. All consultants in 2025 need to integrate AI into their consulting work without losing the human touch.
